Description
RailWorks constructed the track infrastructure and grade crossing signal protection to service the new ethanol plant.

Scope
RailWorks constructed 6,390 feet of track, using 112# relay rail on wood ties, and installed insulated joints for bonding and grounding at the load-out points. In addition to furnishing and constructing four #8 turnouts, one mainline turnout and 240 feet of direct fixation track in the process buildings, RailWorks also designed and installed a 40-foot concrete crossing with signal protection.

Unique features
RailWorks worked directly with LincolnLand to design the project. Once the conceptual design was prepared, RailWorks surveyed the proposed site and developed detail design drawings. RailWorks’ project engineer worked closely with LincolnLand and Indiana Railroad to ensure the design scope and specifications met the approval of all parties involved.

LincolnLand Agri-Energy, LLC, produces 40 million gallons of ethanol and 128,000 tons of dried distillers grains with soluables (DDGS) annually.
