Description
RailWorks constructed the track infrastructure for the $68 million refinery at Seneca, IL, one of seven biodiesel refineries Nova Biosource Fuels plans to construct through 2010.
Scope
RailWorks constructed 6,000 feet of track and installed four #8 turnouts, one #10 turnout, one double switch point derail, and four rubber grade crossings. RailWorks coordinated with CSX, the servicing railroad, to address requirements for the facility’s track infrastructure.
Unique features
RailWorks completed the project on time. The new facility has the capacity to produce 60 million gallons of fuel from locally generated, low-cost feedstocks.
